LORDI Are 'Thrilled' To Have TWISTED SISTER Members Guest On New Album
December 28, 2005Finland's LORDI have confirmed that their upcoming album, "The Arockalypse", will feature guest appearances by TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider and guitarist Jay Jay French (as first reported by BLABBERMOUTH.NET on Dec. 12). Dee recorded his parts for the album's intro, entitled "SCG3 Special Report", in which he appears as "the monstersquad's spokesman," according to a posting on LORDI's official web site. "The opening intro is not your typical album intro. It is more like radio theatre!!" commented LORDI mainman Mr. Lordi. "It's over three minutes long and it sets the mood for 'The Arockalypse'. And who would be more suitable to raise heavy rock hell with us than Dee Snider. We are thrilled to have him." Jay Jay French plays the guitar solo in a song called "Chainsaw Buffét". He plays the main part of the solo, while LORDI's Amen opens the solo part and closes it as well.
"After our very first LORDI gig, a live review in some magazine compared my playing to Jay Jay's," stated Amen. "He's a true heavy rock legend, I'm sure that everyone will hear it when his solo kicks in."
The song's lyrical concept is about a cannibal family. "I got my inspiration from 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'," explained Mr. Lordi. "What if you were a girl, and you were dating the Leatherface? Would you go and meet your boyfriend's family for a dinner?"
"The Arockalypse", which is tentatively due in Germany on March 3, 2006 via Drakkar, will feature additional guest appearances by former ACCEPT frontman Udo Dirkschneider (on "They Only Come Out at the Night") and ex-KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick (on "Snowing in Hell").
